How much commission rebate will I receive?

Lender commissions are determined based on the size of your loan.

Amounts vary between Lenders but the following is a guide:

1.    For upfront commissions they are normally between 0.5% and 0.7% of the loan amount (or sometimes only 75% of the loan amount in the case of Line of Credit loans).

2.    For trailing commissions they can vary quite considerably. Many Lenders pay a flat trailing commission in the range 0.15% p.a. to 0.2% p.a. Others increase trailing commission over the first few years of the loan sometimes from zero in the first year to a maximum in the range 0.25% p.a. to 0.35% p.a. by year 6. Trailing commission is calculated on the outstanding loan balance each month.
Note: while trailing commission is always expressed as an annual percentage it is paid monthly (pro rata).
